TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

SETUP AND SPEED TEST

Before we setup the ASUS RT-AX53U Router, we are using the default / provided modem router from our ISP which is Converge.

Our home is a 3 storey house with estimated 4-inch thick walls and a lot area of 120sqm. Our ISP modem router is located on the second floor that should cover the whole area but unfortunately it can't.

We tried to check the internet speed on certain location to know up to where the ISP modem router can cover and here's what we got.

Converge Default Modem Router

Based on the graph above, the default modem router can reach the third and first floor but with a significant decrease on both upload and download. Please note that we are using our mobile device to get the internet speed test which in my opinion has better connection that laptops.

Then we set up the ASUS RT-AX53U which is near the default modem router of our ISP.

One good thing about the ASUS Routers is that it can be managed and configured using just a mobile device thru their ASUS Router App and you can also manage your router even if you are not at home, you just need to sign-in an email on the app.

You can also do other configuration on your router using the ASUS Router App such as update firmware, parental controls and bandwidth limiter on connected devices.

Parental Controls and Settings Pane

ASUS Routers also have a feature they called AIMesh, making them connect to another ASUS routers, extending not only it's internet coverage but also all the setting and configuration you create on the main router that is connected to your modem router.

After installing and configuring our ASUS Router, we then test again the same areas we test earlier on the ISP model router to know if the Wifi signal improves or worsen.

Surprisingly, it covers almost all the areas of our home with better internet speed and we were amazed by the results of our test with the ASUS RT-AX53U router.

SRP of the ASUS RT-53U is around PHP 3,720 is very much a steal for the performance it gives, making you maximize your monthly DSL plan.
